Dead Money of the Day: San Diego State vs. Oregon State (NCAAF, Sat 10:00 PM UTC). The crowd has Oregon State priced at 86% on Polymarket with $90K traded in the last 24 hours. The other side, San Diego State, sits at 14%, which the market pays about 6.9x if it lands. That gap is what we mean by dead money: a lot of confidence, a lot of volume, and very little room for the favorite to be wrong. It is a data rule, not a prediction.

How we fade the public

Crowds overpay for favorites. When most of the money sits on one side, the price of the other side gets cheap, and cheap does not mean wrong. Fading the public means we look for the lopsided markets, note the underdog price, and keep honest score.

  1. Find the crowd. We scan Polymarket NFL, college football, MLB, NBA, NHL and college basketball markets first (then soccer and esports) for pre-game favorites priced 70-97% with heavy 24h volume.
  2. Mark the fade. The other side is the fade. We lock the first price we see.
  3. Grade it. After Polymarket closes the market, the pick is graded win or loss on the public scoreboard.
